Sensory Night
Program
Join us for Sensory Night, designed for individuals with sensory needs. Our goal is to create an inclusive play environment, and we will be reducing high-sensory elements in the museum, such as bright lights and loud sounds. We will provide adaptable supplies, sensory bins, and more. This event is free and sponsored by the Jamf Nation Global Foundation.
Grades K-5: This 3-hour School's Out program is focused on building with our LEGO Bricq Kits! Join us at the Children's Museum of Eau Claire for a workshop on your day home from school! We will be building various projects using our LEGO BricQ and LEGO kits. This is a drop-off, 3 hour program for your child who is in grades K - 4. Come join us for this fun LEGO build!
Grades 3-6: This 3-hour School's Out program is focused on building with our Infento Discovery Kits! The Discovery Kit allows students to build and experiment with real technical constructions like electric motors, windmills, and vehicles. It's part of the Infento product line, which focuses on modular, build-your-own life-size rides and STEM projects. Students can either work individually or as a team of 2 to complete one of the 14 separate technical tasks, fostering hands-on learning in science and technology topics through a guided, yet autonomous, process.
Dive into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M) through hands-on activity stations! Science Festival stations are available for free in the museum lobby.
Grades 2-7: (Two sessions-9:00-noon and 1:00-4:00) This 3-hour School's Out program is focused on food and where it comes from! Students will learn about why pumpkins are "seasonal" in October, parts of a pumpkin, using pumpkin as an ingredient, and more. They will be able to gain understanding through hands-on baking, exploration, and no fears of making "too big of a mess". We will be able to celebrate National Baking Week and National Chef's Day through our activities. Come join us for this pumpkin-themed workshop!
It's First Responders Weekend at the Children's Museum of Eau Claire! We extend our deepest gratitude to our brave first responders by offering free admission for first responders and their families throughout the weekend. Join us in honoring their dedication and sacrifice. We thank Royal Credit Union for their generous support in recognizing our local heroes. There will also be a Bitty City-themed firetruck that we will be giving away, so stay tuned for that as well!
Grades K-4: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on learning to build your own city! Students will create a city/civilization out of cardboard. In the cardboard city public buildings are being created out of large boxes and citizens start making stores, restaurants, farms, and other enterprises using their private building and things they have from our Makery Cart. Students can create all types of businesses, including a pet shop selling paper animals, a flower shop, restaurants, farms, gym, etc. This is an opportunity for students to let their imagination run wild!
Grades 3-8: Join us at the Children's Museum of Eau Claire for Infento Kit building! Similar to large-scale LEGOs, infento kits are modular building systems that allow students to construct life-size, rideable vehicles together. As they work through the building process, students will naturally develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills. They will be encouraged to think creatively, experiment with different designs, and learn from trial and error. After a week of working on vehicles, students will have the opportunity to take their creation for a spin! This is a drop-off, 3 hour program for your child who is entering grades 3rd - 8th. Come join us for this fun ride!
Grades K-6: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on making holiday and winter themes creations! Students will get to use Makery materials to make different kinds of themed creations! From felt pillows to printmaking, and sensory bags to NYE hats, attendees can let their imagination run wild.
Grades 2-8: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on making holiday and winter themed activities! Students will do everything from growing their own snowflakes to making indoor snowballs. Just because it's cold outside, doesn't mean we can't bring a snowball fight indoors! Come join us for this amazing winter-themed workshop!
