First Responders Weekend
Special Event
It's First Responders Weekend at the Children's Museum of Eau Claire! We extend our deepest gratitude to our brave first responders by offering free admission for first responders and their families throughout the weekend. Join us in honoring their dedication and sacrifice. We thank Royal Credit Union for their generous support in recognizing our local heroes. There will also be a Bitty City-themed firetruck that we will be giving away, so stay tuned for that as well!
After trick-or-treating downtown, keep the Halloween fun going at the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire! Join us on Saturday, October 25th from 11:00 am–1:00 pm for STEAM-O-WEEN, a spooktacular celebration filled with hands-on, Halloween-themed STEAM activities throughout the museum. Create bubbling potions in our Witch’s Brew Experiment, bring monsters to life with Frankenstein Operation and Excavation, mold your own Frankenstein Dough Creature, tinker with Trick or Treat Robots, and take on spooky LEGO Building Challenges! Keep your eyes peeled—there are hidden treasures tucked within the STEAM activities! Find one and you’ll win a prize or gift bag! All activities are included with membership or daily admission—no tricks, just treats and tons of science fun! 🎃⚙️👻
Join us for our free Sensory Nights, held on the second Thursday of each month from 5:00–7:00 pm, now through April (note: no Sensory Night in January). These evenings are designed especially for children and families with sensory sensitivities. During Sensory Night, we turn down the lights and exhibit sounds, offer specialized sensory activities, and provide access to additional sensory experiences. And, as always, our sensory room and supplies are always available to help make your visit comfortable, engaging, and fun for everyone. Sponsored by Jamf Nation Global Foundation.
Grades K-4: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on learning to build your own city! Students will create a city/civilization out of cardboard. In the cardboard city public buildings are being created out of large boxes and citizens start making stores, restaurants, farms, and other enterprises using their private building and things they have from our Makery Cart. Students can create all types of businesses, including a pet shop selling paper animals, a flower shop, restaurants, farms, gym, etc. This is an opportunity for students to let their imagination run wild!
Grades 3-8: Join us at the Children's Museum of Eau Claire for Infento Kit building! Similar to large-scale LEGOs, infento kits are modular building systems that allow students to construct life-size, rideable vehicles together. As they work through the building process, students will naturally develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills. They will be encouraged to think creatively, experiment with different designs, and learn from trial and error. After a week of working on vehicles, students will have the opportunity to take their creation for a spin! This is a drop-off, 3 hour program for your child who is entering grades 3rd - 8th. Come join us for this fun ride!

Grades K-6: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on making holiday and winter themes creations! Students will get to use Makery materials to make different kinds of themed creations! From felt pillows to printmaking, and sensory bags to NYE hats, attendees can let their imagination run wild.
Grades 2-8: This is a drop-off, 3 hour program focused on making holiday and winter themed activities! Students will do everything from growing their own snowflakes to making indoor snowballs. Just because it's cold outside, doesn't mean we can't bring a snowball fight indoors! Come join us for this amazing winter-themed workshop!
